GER Rossi has praised his Rovers team for their excellent performance against Ormiston at the weekend, but insists that we can do better.
The gaffer presided from midfield as goals from Gregor Lamb and Saul Schulz-Keith booked Rovers’ spot in the next round of the Alex Jack Cup.
It was a showing that Rossi was happy with, but he insists he will look for more from his side in the future. Speaking to peeblesrovers.com, he said;
“I thought, if we’re nit-picking, we could have done a lot better; as soon as we went 2-0 up we definitely became sloppy and put out feet up.
“It’s something that we’ve done in the past and we need to remember how it’s cost us. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very pleased with the result, but we all know that we could be better.
Rovers took the lead in East Lothian inside the opening ten minutes after Gregor Lamb scored early on, as Saul Schulz-Keith notched twice to seal the win, with the manager praising the two for their efforts.
He continued; “Saul’s been working very hard recently, and he took those two chances and scored. It’s great for his confidence, hopefully this is something that will see him kick-on and become more relaxed in front of goal.
“For Gregor, the wee man was fantastic. I thought him, Skinny and Smithy were the best players on the park for us; he was very bright and he’s so deadly cutting in on that left-hand side.
“He had a couple of shots out there, also back at Preston last week, and you can see how good his technique is. Gregor really deserved that goal, he’s another one that works hard in training- and it’s ridiculous when you remember how young he still is!
“Again, hopefully he’ll kick-on now and develop into a very good player for us.”
