Peebles Rovers 1 V St Andrews Utd 6

In an afternoon to forget yesterday in a match The Rovers were forced to play away from home up at Peffermill in the League Cup. This was Rovers 2nd game of the new season and again was in the league cup but was a completely different story from Wed night. The match started with both teams playing rather scrappy football for the first 30mins but their was nothing between these 2 clubs who were playing each other for the first time in their history. Then the Rovers imploded and conceded 3 goals in just a 10 minute spell. Going in at halftime 3 down was disappointing. The 2nd half started with Rovers giving away a penalty which was in all fairness the goal that truly ended the tie.The only pleasing note of the game was that Alan Mcmath (Speedy) got his goalscoring exploits off and running for this season. With a free week and weekend ahead plenty time to put this poor performance behind them and get back at it on the training pitch. Next up is a home tie against Penicuik Athletic a week on Tuesday(14th August)
