It would be fair to say that Robbie Renwick has enjoyed something of a dream start to life in red and white at Whitestone Park
The local lad made his debut against Burntisland Shipyard in the Rovers’ final match of 2016, as the former Livingston youngster notched on his debut in a thumping 4-0 win to ensure that all three points went to Peebles.
But new challenges are on the horizon, and Renwick believes that confidence in the Rovers camp is sky-high ahead of Saturday’s clash with Coldstream as he eyes another win to ensure 2017 kicks-off with a bang for everyone at Whitestone. Speaking to peeblesrovers.com, he said;
“Signing on at the Rovers has been fantastic, and I’m really enjoying playing football again. Scoring against Burntisland was great, I think it’s a great basis to kick-on from for the rest of the season.
“I’m never usually in that area of the pitch, but I took the shot and it was great to score, it also made up for the sitter that I missed earlier!”
The Rovers travel to Home Park to lock horns with the Streamers in a crucial match for both teams, and a win could see Rossi’s outfit make serious strides towards the upper echelons of the league table. But, Renwick is remaining calm ahead of the game, and says that he has every confidence that the team can get the right result;
“Coldstream is definitely a winnable game, we’ve started the season quite poorly but now we can kick-off our season after a great win over Burntisland. There’s no reason why we can’t beat them, and I believe we will.”
Kick-off at Home Park tomorrow is 2.00pm. Stay tuned to Peebles Rover’s social media for team news, match updates and reports, and exclusive content from your local team
